Apple approves DuckPhone app second time round

Was that first rejection, ahem, quackers?

Apple has approved indie developer Atlantia Software's DuckPhone app, which makes your iPhone quack like a duck.

If you think that's too minor a piece of news for a site like Mobile Entertainment, you might want to read our previous story on the app, which was one of the first to be rejected by Apple for having "minimal user functionality".

First time round, it was all about the quacking, in a tribute to MTV reality show Jersey Shore.

However, Atlantia resubmitted the app with links to Twitter feeds from the show's stars and aggregated news on what they're up to. Second time round, it was approved and is now available for $0.99 / £0.59.

"I don’t know if I’d consider it a victory against Apple, but I suppose it is a lesson to developers that persistence is the only option if you want to survive in the app store," Atlantia's Nick Bonatsakis tells CrunchGear.

We're wondering whether he's sought a licence from MTV for the app, though...
