After seeing its European user base grow by 110 per cent over the last six months.
Appcelerator is one of a growing number of firms specialising in solving the fragmentation nightmare with a write-once-run-many platform.
Its open source Titanium service lets developers use web programming languages and convert them to run on mobile and desktop platforms, including iPhone OS, Android, Windows, Mac, Linux and HTML5.
It says 35,000 apps have been created to date by 1.6m developers and are now on 40 million devices.
The firm raised $15m in November and this announcement gives a clue as to how its is spending the cash.
It's hired former Experian exec Doug Norton-Bilsby as MD of EMEA, while Carl Orthlieb joins as the new VP of engineering and Jo Ann Buckner comes on board as VP of product management.

Now that Titanium is in the UK, local businesses will start asking for Titanium developers a lot more often. This is great news for me and the rest of the community. Only good things can come from this and they'll likely only expand more as a result.
