iPhone and iPod touch users have downloaded 10 million apps since Apple's new store went live last week.
In a short statement issued today, Apple confirmed that 10 million apps have been downloaded since its App Store since opened for business at 5pm GMT last Thursday (July 10th).The company says more than 800 native apps are now available from the App Store, with more than 200 offered for free and more than 90 per cent priced at less than $10.
Apple did not say what proportion of the 10 million downloads were paid for. However, a quick look at the UK App store reveals the Top 5 best-selling paid apps as:
1. Super Monkey Ball, SEGA, £5.99
2. Crash Bandicoot, VG Mobile, £5.99
3. Band, MooCow Music, £5.99
4. Enigmo, Pangea Software, £5.99
5. Texas Hold 'Em, Apple, £2.99
MySpace, EA, PopCap, Gameloft, Glu, Greystripe, I-play, Shazam and the iFund are just a few of the companies selling iPhone content via the App Store.

Today's figures would also indicate that 300 apps have been added to the store since its launch (Apple originally said there were 500 apps available, roughly a third of which were games).
Content providers get to keep 70 per cent of the App Store revenue they generate.
