Bring to life a pet dog robot with your iPhone or iPod Touch.
Launched earlier this year, Bandai’s TechPet is an app-based, electronic dog robot that can be brought to life with the addition of an iPhone or iPod Touch.
Powered by a free app from iTunes, The TechPet can respond to vocal instructions and hand gestures, as well as walk around and wag its tail.
Image recognition allows the TechPet to recognise the user’s face, while the toy itself can be personalised by selecting from a choice of faces and accessories. Furthermore, a host of additional features can be unlocked by looking after the digital dog properly. This means regularly checking on its health and making sure it s properly fed.
Owners can still use their iPhone for all other functions whilst playing with the TechPet, and what’s more, you can use the TechPet as a loudspeaker for your alarm and a hands-free speaker for playing music.
The TechPet app is now available from iTunes.
