App Of The Day: Lost Monkey

Habbo Hotel goes bananas and launches its first mobile app.

Teen social game community Habbo Hotel says its first ever mobile app Lost Monkey follows a cheeky monkey that has lost its way from Habbo Hotel.

The simian comes across a broken teleport, ending up alone and stranded on a tropical island.

The aim of the game is for players to nurse the monkey and entertain it via a number mini-games and ultimately help it back to the hotel, once this is completed the animal lives on as a virtual pet.

Paul LaFontaine, CEO of Sulake, company behind Habbo, said: "Lost Monkey gives teens a chance to have Habbo on the go and bring a sharable character back to the Habbo web environment when they want."

According to a survey of Habbo Hotel teens, 89 per cent have a mobile phone and 51 per cent own a portable media player such as an iPod Touch.
