App Of The Day: Freddi Fish and the Stolen Shell

Atari's aquatic animal attacks Apple apparatus.

Game publisher Atari has released the game from its children's entertainment arm Humongous onto iOS devices.

The app calls upon users to seek for the sticky-fingered thief of his Uncle Blenny's Great Conch Shell. The shell is required in order for the Founder's Day Festival to begin and children must find clues at a series of underwater locations to crack the case in meddling kid fashion.

Freddi will visit ancient ruins, carnival, and a sunken airplane in addition to interacting with friends Luther the fish, Rosy Pearl and Nadine the Narwhal among others.

Three key challenges users will come across will involve critical thinking, problem solving and memory.

The game also offers a replay feature meaning new clues, locations and suspects can be found each time. Music making extras and in-game achievements are also featured.

Maria Pacheco, VP, mobile marketing of Atari, said: "The Humongous brand represents one of the most successful kids interactive entertainment brands. We’re pleased to use the mobile platform to introduce a new generation of kids to the characters, stories and gameplay that made Humongous the true gold seal in the category.

"The engaging experience we’ve created perfectly translates all the lovable elements of the franchise in a way that we believe will excite kids and be embraced by parents who grew up with these games."

Freddi Fish and the Stolen Shell is available on iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch for 69p.
