iPhone product will enable fans to vote for the best of British pop via an app for the first time.
The app is a joint effort by developer Noise Inc with the BRIT organisation and MasterCard, and will go live on January 12th as a free download the Apple App Store.
This will give music fans a chance to vote as soon as the nominations are announced in the three award categories of:
* Best British Single
* Best British Group
* British Breakthrough
The BRIT Awards App will also offer news updates, chances to win tickets and the ability to purchase performance audio from the night of the Awards.
MasterCard will also announce how consumers can use the app to participate in an extension of its 'Something for the Fans' campaign for The BRITs in 2011

The BRIT (British Record Industry Trust) Awards are organised by the UK music trade body, BPI. The 2012 event will be the 32nd.
