App downloads stabilise in February following January spike

While marketing costs rise 15 per cent.

Mobile app marketing firm Fiksu revealed a record Apple app download spike in January, which was due to users playing with their new iPhones and iPads that received respective sales of around 15 million and 35 million devices.

Now, the firm has confirmed the January spike that hit 6.79 million daily downloads, has returned to a normal average of 6.35 million in February.

Meanwhile, marketing costs from January to February rose by 15 per cent from $1.14 per loyal user to $1.31.

Micah Adler, CEO, Fiksu, says: "As we moved out of the holiday and New Year discovery rush period, consumer download activity slowed during the month of February.

"Still, with plentiful volume at reasonable costs, our Indexes show that February presented another valuable opportunity for mobile marketers to acquire loyal app users."
