Fans will be able to kill those pesky pigs on the big screens.

Rovio's appetite for interesting technology partnerships around its Angry Birds franchise knows no bounds. The company has inked a new deal to let Formula 1 fans play the game on big screens at the Singapore Grand Prix this weekend.

Rovio has worked with fellow Finnish startup Uplause to create a live-event version of Angry Birds, which will be sponsored by Singapore Telecommunications for the launch event, according to Reuters.

Attendees will apparently control the game with their voices, although it's unclear if this involves lots of people shouting ("Up! Up! No, Down! Fire!") or one at a time.

"We think this new form of gaming will give fans a great opportunity to form a strong emotional connection with the characters," says Rovio's Peter Vesterbacka.

The idea of mobile games on the big screen at live events has been mooted for years, but Angry Birds could be the brand to really crack it. Rovio and Uplause are apparently planning to follow the grand prix with similar events at sporting occasions and music concerts.
