Previous Rovio records smashed as latest addition to the popular franchise tops rankings in just two and a half hours.
Rovio and Lucasfilm’s Angry Birds Star Wars collaboration has broken all previous Rovio records on its route to the top of Apple’s App Store downloads chart, topping the rankings just two and a half hours after its launch last Thursday (November 8th).
Launched across multiple platforms, including Apple, Android, Kindle Fire and Windows Phone 8, Angry Birds Star Wars has already proved to be hugely popular amongst customers, with 1,406 of the 1,547 user reviews currently posted rating the game five stars out of five.
The latest addition to Rovio’s Angry Birds franchise is the fifth instalment of the series, which topped the one billion cumulative download mark earlier this year.
As a companion piece to the Angry Birds Star Wars launch, Rovio and Lucasfilm also created the following cinematic trailer for the game.
