Angry Birds does 6.5m Christmas Day downloads

Season's tweetings.

There's no sign of the Angry Birds bandwagon slowing down. Quite the contrary if Rovio's latest disclosures are anything to go by.

The firm said it achieved more than 500m downloads and $100m revenues in 2011. And given that Rovio is essentially a one product company, those stats can be read for Angry Birds too.

The 6.5m downloads on Christmas Day figure rings true given that Flurry projects Christmas Day downloads at 242m. That would give Rovio one in every 37 downloads.

Rovio's Ville Heijari told All Things Digital: "We're really excited to have such a massive number of new people get acquainted with Angry Birds over the holidays – we have exciting new releases lined up for 2012, and can't wait to introduce them to the public," said Heijari.

In November 2011, Angry Birds passed 500m lifetime downloads.
