Korean vendor targets 20 per cent growth this year, with half of its smartphones using Google's OS
According to Reuters the company is hoping its Android embrace will help it shift 140 million handsets in 2010, up 20 per cent from 117 million last year.
LG is currently the third-ranked handset maker globally and has confirmed that 50 per cent of the smartphones it ships in 2010 will be based on the Android OS.
Analysts polled by Reuters said the growth was achievable, but warned that LG's margins will be pressured even further this year as competetion hots up in the smartphone sector in particular.
