Strong growth across all smartphone platforms.

Android and iOS are tying for the most smartphone ad impressions on Millennial Media's network, the company has revealed.

Both took a 37% share of smartphone OS impressions during October, with BlackBerry in third place with a 20% share.

Windows Phone and Symbian took a 2% share apiece - the first time Symbian has been featured in the company's Mobile Mix analysis.

Overall, smartphones accounted for 61% of Millennial's overall impressions in October.

iPhone remains the most popular mobile device in terms of Millennial ad impressions, with a just-under 16% share.

Its non-cellular stablemate the iPod touch took third place in the list - the first time it has featured individually in Millennial's chart.

But the lasting impression from the October Mobile Mix report is of Android's continued growth - Android requests were up 65% month-on-month, and 2,182% since January.

By contrast, iOS requests grew 12% month-over-month, while BlackBerry requests were up 43%.
