RIM reveals finalists for its Developer Challenge contest.
Research In Motion has announced the the 16 finalists in its 2009 BlackBerry Developer Challenge, which will compete for a first prize worth more than $100,000 at the company's Developer Conference next month.
The finalists are a mixture of consumer and enterprise-focused apps, and have been chosen based on being a compelling product or service, a clearly defined "value proposition", and technical execution.
Mobile entertainment apps in the longlist include 7digital's Music Store, video app Vision for YouTube, social media app ShoZu, music app Unsynced Music Player, news apps AFP Mobile News and CBS News, and games Sid Meier's Pirates, Fierce Towers and Astraware Solitaire.
The winner and runner-up will be announced on 10th November during RIM's conference.
