And less than 15% of the users involved were on iPhone or Android devices.
Mobile advertising firm Amobee says it handled transactions worth more than $1 million last weekend.
Those transactions came from its mix of operator, publisher, app developer and app store clients.
"The industry has an obsession with counting impressions, but the true indicator of success is dollars spent and having the industry’s first million dollar weekend is a significant milestone for Amobee," says CEO Zohar Levkovitz.
"Through our solution we turn handsets into people, and when you have that, you can provide context which significantly increases effectiveness for advertisers."
Amobee is also using the figures to stress that there is life beyond the smartphone platforms of Apple and Google.

"It is notable that of these users less than 15% had an iPhone or Android device," says Levkovitz. "The reality is they remain a fraction of the devices used by consumers globally."
