But the online retailer remains vague on how many are e-books and how many are Fire tablets.
In typical Amazon fashion, the firm refused to reveal the exact specifics of its device sales. It said: "For the third week in a row, customers are purchasing well over one million Kindle devices per week.”
'One million Kindle devices' is presumably a combination of both the Kindle e-book and Kindle Fire tablet, which was launched last month.
That said, the firm has been predicted to sell five million Kindle Fire units by the close of 2011, so the one million Kindles per week could bring Fire sales roughly on track.
To add to the mystery, Dave Limp, VP, Amazon Kindle, said: "Kindle Fire is the most successful product we've ever launched - it's the bestselling product across all of Amazon for 11 straight weeks, we've already sold millions of units, and we're building millions more to meet the high demand."
"In fact, demand is accelerating - Kindle Fire sales increased week over week for each of the past three weeks."

Amazon has done an astounding job when it comes to supporting its product, creating accessories and competing with earlier entrants, and marketing the Kindle line. With this much success with their first branded electronic mobile device I can't imagine what their phone will look like- rumored to be in the works.
