Number of ebooks sold outstrips paperbacks and hardbacks combined.
Amazon has reported that UK consumers buy more digital books than they are physical copies.
Specifically, it sells 114 Kindle books for every 100 print books.
The company has also experienced a boost from indie authors eager to self-publish their work; the company has experienced a 400 per cent increase in authors using Kindle Direct Publishing in the past 12 months.
Jorrit Van der Meulen, Kindle EU president, said: "Customers in the UK are now choosing Kindle books more often than print books, even as our print business continues to grow.
"We hit this milestone in the US less than four years after introducing Kindle, so to reach this landmark after just two years in the UK is remarkable and shows how quickly UK readers are embracing Kindle."
