Unveiling of next-gen ebook reader expected at New York event next month.
Reports say Amazon will unveil the latest incarnation of its Kindle ebook reader at the Morgan Library in New York on February 9th.The original $359 Kindle device enables users to download books, newspapers and other content wirelessly over Sprint's 3G network in the US, using technology provided by Qualcomm.
The smart money is on the new version being called Kindle 2, with a slimmer design and improved UI.
Verizon recently said it plans to open its network to multiple e-reader devices following the success of the Kindle offering.
