Alcatel-Lucent has launched its 5965 Mobile Content Platform, which enables consumers to browse for content in more intuitive ways.
Today, content is typically sorted by content type rather than by brand. For example, a subscriber interested in U2 would probably need to search through a ringtones menu, a graphics menu and a video menu individually. At no time, however would they see everything relating to U2 in one place. This also makes it hard for the operator to record a user’s buying preferences.Alcatel-Lucent claims its 5965 Mobile Content Platform changes this so that the subscriber can see the content and brands they care about regardless of content type or where it is hosted. This means operators can target subscribers based on individual interests and behaviour, and improve service quality with content management, merchandising, advertising and entertainment.
The Alcatel-Lucent 5965 Mobile Content Platform is a software platform that can be added to mobile networks without replacing existing content systems enabling operators to quickly begin delivering revenue-generating new services.
