'After all, you're my payment wall'... Liam Gallagher does m-payments

Singer's Pretty Green fashion label uses Mobile Money Network’s Simply Tap system on its mobile site.

The Oasis front man launched the clothing line in January 2009, and now has eleven outlets across the UK.

But the label also has a mobile site and says traffic to it has increased 300 per cent in six months – that's 45 per cent of its total web traffic.

Not surprising, then, that Pretty Green should want to find a way to offer mobile users a handy payment method.

It opted for Simply Tap. MMN's instant checkout app, which lets customers buy a physical product by typing in a code.

Customers pre-register their card details with MMN so that, from then on, whenever the code is inputted there is just one click to complete the purchase.

The product is then delivered directly to his or her home address.

MMN and Pretty Green have worked together before, with the retailer using Simply Tap to sell accessories via Facebook, exclusive tickets to music-themed events, and vinyl albums from its store windows.

Nigel Grant, Pretty Green’s brand director, said: “In the past year our mobile traffic has rocketed from around 15 per cent of all web traffic in January to 44 per cent now. It’s clear our customers want to use their mobile device to browse products and make easy, instant and secure purchases.

"After experimenting with MMN and Simply Tap, we know the service works and our customers like it."
