AdWords now on iPhone and G1

Google upgrades system so text and image ads are displayed on handsets with full web browsers.

The news means that advertisers already using Google's AdWords solution can choose to target their campaigns at iPhone, Android-powered handsets or any other mobile device that supports HTML.

As Google explains, the ads can point to desktop landing pages so advertisers don't need to create mobile landing pages or ads in mobile formats.

Google adds that the HTML mobile campaigns will have many of the same features as its standard mobile ads, such as the delivery of mobile-specific calls-to-action.

More details can be found here on the Google Mobile Blog.
