Flash Cell's 'Microfilm' DVD Guide wins Grand Prize, sponsored by Adobe, GetJar, and Thumbplay.
Entrants competed for $100,000 worth of premium placement on GetJar, the independent app store. Flash Cell alone received $30,000 worth of placement.
The contest was launched in February 16 at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona to help fuel the development of apps in Flash. There were five categories: lifestyle, games, infotainment, social networking and sports.
Here's a list of the winners:
Grand Prize ($15K) – “Microfilm” from Flash Cell – App centred on film releases, tickets, DVD rentals etc.
People’s Choice (A copy of Adobe Creative Suite Master Collection) – “Cubic Republic” by IKS Mobile. Multiplayer gaming on different devices.

Most Innovative ($10K) – “Big Game Huntr” by Mobile Radicals – A location-based hunting game.
Lifestyle Category ($15K) – “Little Spender” by Ribot – Expenses logged in an intuitive manner.
Games Category ($15K) – “Ficklebox” by Bluesky North – Block matching puzzle game.
Infotainment Category ($15K) – “Microfilm” by Flash Cell Ltd
Social Networking Category ($15K) – “Mr. Postman” by Ian Moreira de Andrade – Twitter aggregation app.
Sports Category ($15K)– “Golfbox” by Little Big Ideas – A golfers’ management app.
Premium placement for the winners on GetJar means that the winning developers will have their applications placed in either the “New & Cool,” “Featured” or “Recommended” areas on GetJar.com and m.getjar.com for a duration equivalent to the value of their cash prize.
