And it has Omniture research to back it up.
Mobile apps good, mobile web better? That appears to be one of the findings in a new study of 1,200 US consumers by Adobe's Omniture subsidiary.
The survey focused on four categories of mobile service: consumer products & shopping; financial services; media & entertainment; and travel.
According to Adobe's announcement, "when it comes to the mobile user experience, respondents generally favour mobile browser experiences over downloadable mobile app experiences across all four categories."
For consumer products & shopping and media & entertainment, 66% of respondents said they preferred to use the mobile web rather than apps.
However, the survey found that consumers prefer apps for social media, music, games and mapping, and points out that respondents report equal satisfaction levels with mobile web and apps, and spend roughly the same time interacting with each.

"Though mobile apps continue to be extremely popular, mobile users aren't ignoring mobile websites," says Omniture VP and general manager Brad Rencher.
Naturally, Adobe and Omniture have products and services to help companies in all these categories - the reason for commissioning and publishing the survey.
"Our customers are finding that an optimised mobile strategy, whether it consists of a website, an app, or a combination of both, can become a tremendous competitive advantage."
The survey also found that maps are the most popular mobile activity - 81% of respondents have used them - followed by social networking (76%), accessing local info (73%) and reading news (68%).
