Nokia has released Own Voice for Ovi Maps, a free app from that allows people to personalise the voice that gives them turn-by-turn instructions when using Ovi Maps drive navigation.
The app lets the user create a new voice pack, taking them through each step of the process for each of the 53 required commands.
Once complete the pack can be saved and uploaded to the Own Voice website, enabling others to download and use it.
Own Voice also lets people share voice packs by Facebook and Twitter.
Rupert Englander, Head of Services, Nokia UK, said: “Many of us have a love-hate relationship with our sat nav and being able to record or choose a voice that you love is a great way to make Ovi Maps fun to use."
