Austrian firm will put ads on the screen when no one picks up.

Research by ICM and adaffix showed 25 per cent of all calling customers are not able to speak to an actual person, and that 63 per cent of customers trying to call a business in vain would to be willing to switch to another company.

This is where adaffix comes in, as it displays the numbers for other businesses, which can then be dialled with one click.

The adaffix statistics show the 'top five of non-reachable businesses' in Germany during workdays are restaurants, with an 18 per cent failed phone pick-up rate, followed by lawyers at 10 per cent, family physicians, internal medicine specialists and hotels at nine per cent and dentists at four per cent.

In Austria, adaffix has partnered with the directory players HEROLD.at and auskunft.at, and in Germany DasTelefonbuch data has been integrated into the service.

The downloadable mobile app, which has received the GMSA Global Mobile Award 2010, is free of charge for consumers and works on all smartphones that support Symbian S60, Android, Blackberry RIM or Windows Mobile.
