Activision partners Flurry for third-party mobile development

Plans to support independent iOS and Android developers across all stages of a title launch.

Games developer, Activision, and mobile analytics and ad firm, Flurry, will combine their industry knowledge to produce a support service for third-party developers that are working on iOS and Android mobile games.

It's set to cover all stages of a mobile game launch, offering guidance across development, publishing, distribution and promotion.

As part of the service, Activision will release the independent games via its Mobile Publishing brand, but the developers will still keep intellectual property rights.

Eric Hirshberg, CEO of Activision, said: "A world class partner such as Flurry will position Activision for mobile growth in the future and we are confident our relationship will yield significant insight into mobile development and distribution.

"Additionally, Activision and Flurry are uniquely qualified to provide mobile developers with funding, resources and unmatched marketing expertise, while also allowing them to retain their intellectual property. We are confident this relationship and our new platform will yield significant results and are excited to launch it."

The launch comes following Activision's announcement of a commitment to mobile with a UK studio opening.
