Seven and ten inch devices planned for April 2011.
The flagship 10.1-incher has a dual-core 1GHz processor, an HDMI output, 1280x800 screen resolution, 5 megapixel rear camera, an "HD" front-facing camera for video calling and full multitouch support.
The 7-inch version is the same except for the screen size, packing a dual core CPU, DLNA technology, WiFi and integrated 3G.
This is hardly an unexpected move by Acer, which is such a big presence in laptops and netbooks. It will hope for better success that its enjoyed in the smartphone space to date.
In fact, the firm has just revealed a new 4.8 'smartphone tablet' to launch at the same time as the other new devices. Interesting concept, easily one of the biggest phones ever launched.
