Computing giant to use existing partners for its big mobile foray.
Acer has announced that it will be using its existing PC distribution channels to bring its new smartphone to the UK market.The company tooks the wraps of its Windows Mobile-powered range at Mobile World Congress last week.
Now Mobile News reports Computer 2000, Micro-P, Ingram Micro and ETC have all been named as distribution partners, as Acer seeks an aggressive entry in to the lucrative smartphone sector.
“Our ambition is to become a leader in the mobile data market,” commented Acer’s senior corporate vice president Aymar de Lencquesaing. “It's in our DNA. We will look to leverage our existing UK facilities. The mobile channel will benefit from being able to partner with us to provide netbooks too.”
