Embedded games will be wrapped with Flexion technology to encourage trials and purchases.
Flexion is a wrapping engine that builds in a range of purchase options such ‘try-before-you-buy’, ‘rent for the day’ or ‘have-a-go for 25p’ into a game or app. Accumulate calls it ‘on-device retailing.’
This deal represents the first time a handset manufacturer has pre-loaded games with Flexion.
Accumulate’s MD Jens Lauritzson said: ‘We are delighted that Sony Ericsson has taken this step together with us. We have been preloading Flexion enabled games with operators for a while now with very good results. With the help of Sony Ericsson we will extend our reach significantly.’
The first Sony Ericsson device to be shipped with Flexion technology will be its Yari device expected later this year.
