Access makes 'top mobile browser' claim

Japanese firm cites research that says its NetFront browser is most popular in US and Europe.

The Access NetFront Browser is deployed in 27 per cent of all handsets currently available in the US, according to ComScore research cited by the firm.

In the top five European markets, 30 per cent of all available mobile phones are equipped with NetFront Browser, making it number one.

In the US, Openwave and RIM's browsers came in second and third, while in Europe Nokia S60 and Obigo came second and third.

There's no Opera Mini as that is a downloadbale product, whereas the ComScore study looked at embedded browsers only.

Access itself says global deployments of its various NetFront technologies surpassed 732 million in January 2009, representing over 1710 different device models from the likes of LG, Palm, Samsung and Sanyo.
