Launches free TV-on-demand app for Apple's tablet.
US broadcaster ABC has launched a free iPad app allowing people to watch full episodes of Lost, Grey's Anatomy, Modern Family and Desperate Housewives.
The ABC Player app launched in time for the iPad's debut this weekend, and lets users search for specific episodes of shows.
An ABC schedule is built in too, for people to see what the network is airing on regular TV up to a week ahead.
ABC says that the app is free "courtesy of our sponsors", so users can expect to see some advertising in and around the shows.
It's an interesting move though, as ABC is one of the joint owners of online TV service Hulu, which is widely expected to launch its own iPad app in the near future.
