82ASK has re-launched as Texperts and will promote its new identity with a £1m UK marketing push.
The mobile text-and-answer service is re-branding to accelerate the growth of the ‘mobile find’ category, which what it describes as the shortcomings of mobile search by providing answers supplied by human operators in responses to text-based queries.The company now has more than 200 Texperts from around the globe answering questions 24 hours a day on individual topics such as travel, restaurants, shopping, health, music and sport. As part of the re-launch Texperts will also switch from the shortcode 82275 to 66000. Anyone using a UK mobile number anywhere in the world (bar Japan & Korea) can text a question to 66000 and receive an accurate answer within minutes for £1 a call.
Sarah McVittie, Texperts CEO, said, "We strongly believe people don't want to waste time and effort using mobile search and feel that the Texperts have what it takes to get people the information they need on the go…We have seen impressive organic growth in the service recently from exactly this type of usage and with our planned marketing activities we hope to grow on this".
Texperts receives thousands of texts per day and has seen average month-on-month growth of 20 per cent.
