And we were thrilled when per cent of people downloaded Java games...
A new survey by NPD claims that 16 per cent of Americans age 13 or older are using devices other than their computers to download apps, music, video, and other entertainment content.
iPhone and iPod Touch users lead the activity, with 75 per cent of them downloading, while the rate is 19 per cent for game console users and 17 percent for set-top box users.
Russ Crupnick, entertainment industry analyst for NPD, believes the overall rate will rise.
He said: "Like other groups of early adopters, consumers downloading entertainment content are mostly younger and male; however, as app stores expand beyond Apple, as connected devices become more commonplace, and as connectivity is simplified we expect to see more activity on other devices and platforms."
