The news came via YouTube's blog as the clip streaming service celebrated its 7th birthday.
The 72 hours of video uploaded each minute is the equivalent of 61 Royal Wedding Ceremonies, 841 Bad Romances, and 1,194 Nyan Cats.
Subscriptions rose by 50 per cent year-on-year, with tens of millions of channels, over 800 million users and more than three billion hours of video viewed monthly.
Last month, we reported that YouTube was the world's most used mobile streaming platform, while it's planning to expand its film rental user base with new movie studio partnerships.
