Forget binge drinking: how about binge texting? It seems the two go hand-in-hand, judging by a new survey from location-based mobile city guide Buzzd.

The company surveyed more than one thousand of its users about their mobile usage, and found that 68% admitted to partaking in drunken text messaging, while 30% reported having lost their mobile phones at least once while out on the lash.

Buzzd also quizzed users about mobile etiquette, and found that 33% think it's fine to use phones as much as they want while out in a club or bar, although 14% went the other way and said it's plain rude to whip your phone out in a nighttime venue.

There's a serious point to all this, of course. Buzzd has just released version 1.2 of its BlackBerry application.

New features include the ability for users to add their own clubs and venues to its database, refine their searches by category, and upload profile photos.
