That's 4% of all iOS users.
The founder of app-cracking service Apptrckr says its application has been installed on more than four million iPhones and iPod touches.
The app, which is only available for jailbroken devices, lets users download cracked - i.e. pirated - versions of iOS apps and games.
Interviewed by website App Advice, Apptrckr founder 'Dissident' maintains that people use the service so they can trial apps, to help decide whether to buy them. Not a view that will be shared by Apple and many developers.
If Dissident's figures are correct, that means as many as 4% of all iOS users are pirating apps, given the 100 million base of devices that was recently announced by Apple.
Estimates that 10% of iOS devices have been jailbroken would mean that 40% of those users are pirating apps.

It's important not to get carried away though: if these figures are right, then 96% of iOS users AREN'T using Apptrckr to install pirated apps.
