Daily deals and groceries are the most scanned.

The survey from CouponCabin also shows that 29 per cent of US smartphone users look for coupons on their device at least once a month, spiking to 40 per cent for 18-34 year-olds.

72 per cent said they're likely to use an app with special offers, with 41 per cent using daily deals, 39 per cent using grocery coupons, 34 per cent using online codes, 29 per cent using printable coupons and 24 per cent using free sample coupons.

CouponCabin has launched an all-in-one coupon app on the back of the results, offering all types of coupons, deals and prices comparisons for hundreds of retailers and restaurants.

Scott Kluth, CEO and founder of CouponCabin.com, said: "As we continue to grow, we've learned that our users are hungry for an app that puts the power of quality couponing in the palm of their hands, and our new app does just that and more."
