T-Mobile USA customers have downloaded an average 40 apps each from Android Market.
The operator made the disclosure in an interview with mocoNews, which crunched the numbers to calculate that with about 1 million G1s sold, that's 40 million downloads in total. In addition, four out of five G1 customers, commonly download applications at least once a week.
It's small beer compared to iPhone's 500 million downloads but G1 has been available for six months rather than nearly two years.
T-Mobile also said that half the customers who have purchased the G1 traded up from a basic handset, and use data services 50 times more than the average voice-centric phone user.
