3UK has confirmed its 'mobile broadband' X-Series package will cost users £5 or £10 on top of their existing monthly subscription.
X-Series was launched last month on a wave of hype. The service provides customers with a flat fee data package while also rolling in premium applications such as Skype, Orb and Slingbox. X-Series is set to roll out across all 3 operating companies through 2007, but is being launched first in the UK.The new price details are as follows: X-Series Silver, for £5, gives customers unlimited Skype calls to Skype PC users and other Skype 3 mobile customers, unlimited instant messages, plus unmetered search and browsing. X-Series Gold, for £10, adds unlimited access to the home TV with Slingbox and PC with Orb. X-Series Silver commits the subscriber for six months, while Gold ties him/her in for 12 months.
Bob Fuller, CEO of 3UK, said: "“The X-Series from 3 is now on sale in our 3 Stores across the UK. We’re proud and excited to be the first 3 Group market to offer X-Series and the first to bring the best of the internet to customers on the move.”
The service is available on the Nokia N73 now with the Sony Ericsson W950i following in January. In 2007, 3 will continue to expand the range of X-Series handsets and services.
