4G Windfall for Sprint.
The sales figure is a major boost for Sprint and HTC, but it's been tempered by shortages of the Android-based smartphone.
This is a big headache for Sprint, which has made the EVO the flagship for a 4G network that has been extended to multiple US cities. It is still the only US carrier with a 4G network.
Doesn't look great for HTC either, whose Droid Incredible on Verizon has also been plagued by shortages since shortly after it launched in late April.
According to WSJ, the main problem is a shortage of touchscreens, which HTC is addressing through a new deal with Sony.
