3 outsources games portal to Buongiorno

Italian content provider plies operator with fully managed white label mobile games store.

3 UK & Ireland has outsourced its entire mobile games offering to Buongiorno.

The deal makes 3 the latest UK operator to farm out management of its games portal, with O2 entering a similar relationship with Player X this summer.

Buongiorno says the agreement with 3 is its first significant implementation of a games store since its merger with iTouch last year, and the first to be implemented by the group in the UK & Ireland.

The store will aggregate titles from various publishers and will be available on both WAP and web.

It will also offer in-game dynamic billing (pay per play, rental, subscription), games rating and comments, and games clubs.

With the mobile internet becoming ever more competitive, delivering the best customer experience is the key selling point.”
