24-7 powers music download and subscription services for multiple online and mobile services. It says the highest monthly volume was generated in December, with a total of 22 million tracks and at peak times, up to 200,000 downloads an hour.
The firm is well-known for running 'all you can eat' subscription services such as Denmark's TDC Play. However, its pay-per-downloads were up 40 per cent on 2008.
“We are very encouraged to see that overall, digital music distribution continues to produce strong growth rates despite relatively few new services being launched”, said Frank Taubert, CEO of 24-7 Entertainment.
24-7 Entertainment now has over 7 million music tracks in their library.
