Seven figure milestone for social ringtone product.
Facetones are a social media flavoured twist on the video ringtone idea that Vringo has been cultivating for years.
They integrate with Facebook and activate an automated video slideshow using friends’ photos from social media and photo sites when a call is received.
Vringo notched up 100,000 downloads in September, following partnerships with various mobile operators such as NTT DOCOMO in Japan and Telefonica in Spain & South America. They are also available from the Nokia Ovi store.
Now the running total is ten times higher.
Jon Medved, Vringo's CEO, said: "As the awareness of Facetones continues to grow, we expect downloads to accelerate through viral marketing as critical mass is achieved.
