Analysts predict that 2010 could be the first profitable year for Google's video service.

Google remains silent on how much money it's making from YouTube versus how much its video service costs to run. However, analysts think the two are about to balance out.

According to the New York Times, which quotes analysts from Digitas and Stifel Nicolaus, YouTube may turn a profit for the first time this year, based on revenues of $450 million.

That's based mainly on advertising on the main YouTube website, where two billion videos are watched with ads every week.

However, the article also states that Google is currently generating 160 million mobile views a day - triple last year's number.

Last week, YouTube's director of video monetisation Shishir Mehrotra said that Google is learning what kind of ads are most effective to show mobile visitors to its site.
