100m iPhone apps sold in 45 days

Users download another 100m applications from the App Store in just over a month.

Apple's been running press ads in the US with the boast, which means that the company has hit a total 300 million downloads - that's nearly 2.1 million downloads a day.

The rate is speeding up too. Apple revealed the first 200 million downloads on October 21st. Needless to say, still no confirmation of how many apps were free.

Last week Apple revealed the top selling App Store apps for the year so far.
