5,000 of RIM's tablets go missing along with the lorry they were loaded on.
It would seem the BlackBerry maker's run of bad luck is showing no sign of slowing down. Feeble sales, lawsuits, power outages and now Ofcom interrogations, are all a day in the life of RIM.
A lorry containing almost $2 million worth of PlayBooks was stolen in Indiana, USA, which is slightly surprising considering the trouble the firm has had shifting them recently.
RIM sold just 150,000 units in Q3, down from 200,000 in Q2 and 490,000 in Q1. The unpopularity of the PlayBook forced RIM to perform a $485 million write-off due to the copious amounts of unsold units.
It is though the lorry has no tracking technology installed, however the FBI are in pursuit and their intelligence has led them to believe the vehicle is on the way to Miami. Presumably to sell the goods on and make a quick buck in time for Christmas.

Such bad news for RIM as they have had a rough past few years with significant decreases in sales, market share, and service which has led to many unhappy customers. Such a shame to see a lineup of mishaps for a company that looked so promising. The lack of a tracking device for a vehicle carrying $2million worth of tablets is ridiculous...really RIM?
