Mobile Streams has bought mobile video and animation specialist Cyoshi for €3 million
Germany-based Cyoshi, best known for taking Happy Tree Friends to mobile and publishing other IP such as Suicidal Squirrels and Joe Cartoon, will be renamed Mobile Streams Europe and will take responsibility for all business in EMEA.
The total consideration of €3m will be paid €2m in cash and €1 in Mobile Streams shares. The acquisition reaffirms Mobile Streams’ stated goals during its recent listing in London to enhance its portfolio of exclusive content and develop its international presence.
The three founding members of Cyoshi Mobile – Christoph Reisner, Arnd Aschentrup and Steffen Heisterberg – will continue to run the business within Mobile Streams. Reisner will become EVP of Mobile Streams Europe.
Simon Buckingham, Mobile Streams CEO said: “This acquisition extends our operator distribution footprint from the UK across both continental and Eastern Europe, while also accelerating our content strategy by adding compelling licensed content. Cyoshi’s TV production background will also strengthen Mobile Streams’ leadership in the fast growing mobile video sector."
