The race towards user generated mobile content is gathering pace, with 3 UK inking a deal that will its SeeMe TV service linked into the MSN Space online blogging site in the UK.
The 10 best video clips from the SeeMeTV mobile TV channel, which pays customers for submitting their own video content, will be posted daily on the branded 3 MSN Space where other users can vote for favourite clips and post blogs.
At the end of each week, a £100 prize will be awarded to the video that receives the most votes, with a £1,000 prize for the overall winner.
SeeMeTV has generated more than four million mobile downloads for 3 UK since it launched the service in November. The company is hoping the tie-in with MSN will expose the channel to new audiences, making good on promises it made last year to integrate online and mobile media.
The potential of user generated mobile content is being explored by mobile operators, Internet giants and media companies alike.
In February, Warner Music in the US used mobile imaging specialist Cognima's Shozu application to video blog the launch of The Veronica's debut album on the TextAmerica website. Shozu also links into Yahoo!'s Flickr blogging site.
