Nokia bags exclusive X-Factor app

£1m deal will see Fremantle develop app for the handset maker

Broadcast reports that X Factor producer Fremantle has inked a £1 million deal to create an exclusive app based on the show for Nokia.

The app will be made available from the Nokia Ovi Store and will be monetised with ads, offering video, images and news from the X Factor TV show.

As the article points out, the app could provide a nice boost to Ovi Store traffic considering much of the viewing demographic will be clutching handsets made by the Finish company.

I remember Vodafone giving a £1million to MySpace for a similar half baked "exclusive" nearly 5 years ago... do people never learn?
