Stats from its Chorus recommendations app also good news for AccuWeather and Dragon Dictation
The official iPhone app from website The Internet Movie Database (IMDb) was the most recommended app in December by users of envIO Networks' Chorus app.
That's according to the latest charts from envIO, which tracks what apps people are recommending and trying to download via its application.
Behind IMDb in the Top 10 Most Recommended chart were AccuWeather, Dragon Dictation, AT&T Mark the Spot, Redbox, Bing, Fring, Ustream Live Broadcaster, Background Check App, and Order Pizza.
IMDb also topped the list of Top Free Apps that Chorus users tried to download, followed by AccuWeather, AT&T Mark the Spot, Background Check App, Dragon Dictation, Order Pizza, Redbox, Bing, Ustream Live Broadcaster and Fring (i.e. the same apps, just in a different order).
Meanwhile, iPhone game DropZap topped the Top 10 Paid Apps by buy attempts chart, followed by Santa's Run, 1Password Pro, Garters & Ghouls, AppButler - App Organizer, Pig Rush, WhatsApp Messenger, MobileRSS for Google RSS Reader, iBALLS-STEEL and Park'n'Find.
One thing that leaps out from these charts is the fact that Chorus users appear to be recommending lots of free apps to one another. Which can't be ideal if envIO is planning to make its money from referral fees to the App Store...
